The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for identifying and cultivating new clients within a defined territory. Regional Sales Managers create their own prospecting activities and are constantly looking to turn contacts and relationships into clients. Regional Sales Managers works with prospects in a consultative manner to provide them with insight and solutions that will improve the prospects workforce solution. The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for supervising a group of up to 10 successful sales representatives and providing ongoing support to help them in their selling process.

Essential Functions

  1. Reaches and exceeds assigned sales goals for Region.
  2. Develops and executes marketing strategies to your prospects such as cold calling, target drops, email campaign, etc.
  3. Attends appointments self-set or set by team member with key decision makers.
  4. Completes and submits accurate business proposals; assists team in completing and submitting accurate business proposals.
  5. Establishes and maintains customer relations.
  6. Recommends Proliant’s products and services to customers, based on customers’ needs and interests
  7. Answers client questions about products and prices; assist team with client questions.
  8. Visits client and prospective client sites to drop off marketing information, meet decision makers, and provide information on our products; drives to visit clients and prospective clients.
  9. Develops and grows a business network for the purpose of generating referrals.
  10. Mentors team on prospect qualification by identifying company needs, decision-makers, demographics, industries, etc.
  11. Takes prospects through full cycle (lead gen. – closing) and assist team through same process.
  12. Develops & retains knowledge of products, pricing, company contacts & sales guidelines
  13. Tracks all event activity using appropriate resources and ensure team is tracking. Monitors team activity to ensure team is meeting required goals.
  14. Partners with management to ensure proper product alignment with client needs.
  15. Attends weekly Sales Team Meetings and ensures team attends.
  16. Professionally services clients and collaborates with other representatives to ensure a smooth transition for the client.
  17. Stays knowledgeable as new Company products are added or as products change to demonstrate effectively to clients; also stays abreast of changing payroll laws, employment laws, and other industry related items.
  18. Performs new team member training for all new hires to team.
  19. Assists with employee relations and performance reviews, including but not limited to, conducting one-on-ones, annual reviews, and resolving employee complaints.
  20. Maintains communication with Team by ensuring they are abreast of any changes, updated policies, new procedures, etc.
  21. Approval of PTO to meet business needs.
  22. Attends required Proliant Ongoing Training and ensures team attends.
  23. Able to balance workload and to be available for team members as necessary.
  24. Maintains knowledge of control objectives for position and department.
  25. Responsible for identifying risks that threaten department and Company control objectives; reports risks/threats identified within area of responsibility to management and proposes mitigation plans or improvements.
  26. Other job duties as assigned.

Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and printers/scanners. Additionally, this role routinely requires the employee to drive to various client and prospective client locations. This role routinely requires travel to client locations, trade shows, headquarters, etc.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is in a stationary position operating computer and other office equipment. The employee additionally will stand; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee will regularly drive to various client and prospective client locations or other meeting locations. The employee will occasionally be required to carry, lift, and move up to 10 pounds.

The employee in this position will frequently communicate with employees, clients, and prospective clients, and must be able to do so clearly, effectively, and professionally.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position depending upon availability. Days of work are Monday through Friday, and the employee is required to work an approved schedule that falls within the Company business hours of 8am-6pm. Out of town travel is occasionally required.

Required Education and Experience

  1. Bachelor’s Degree required.
  2. 5+ years’ experience in a quota driven sales position.
  3. Previous industry experience a plus.
  4. Proven experience in prospecting and closing.
  5. High understanding of and ability to develop proficiency in Company software and all other applicable software programs.
  6. Highly motivated, proactive, detail oriented, and accountable.
  7. Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
  8. Ability to manage and complete multiple projects and activities with strict time sensitive deadlines.
  9. Valid driver’s license and auto insurance required.
  10. Previous sales experience a plus.
  11. Bilingual in English and Spanish a plus.
